Hope you are having an amazing Friday! I’m certain you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving…(we will get Vineland next year).

I want to thank all of those who were able to participate in the strategic planning session earlier this week. With more than 100 participants the conversations were lively and focused on improving our school district. If you were unable to attend please don’t worry – you are welcome to attend the next two sessions: January 16th and February 15th; both will begin at 6:30 sharp in the Lakeside Cafeteria (doors will open at 6pm please arrive a little early so we can begin promptly) we will end no later than 8pm. If you attended the first session please bring a colleague to the next. We want to try to hit 200 participants. Please use the district web page sign in link asap so we can plan accordingly.

I hope everyone has an outstanding weekend!

Shout Out Section

"This week I would like to commend Laura Shepherd in transportation as an employee who exemplifies a world-class standard. She consistently stays until the job is complete, she comes in early, and she never complains. Her positive ‘can-do’ attitude  is a great example for her colleagues. Laura, keep up the wonderful work – I know you don’t require recognition, but you certainly deserve it!!"
~ Dr. David Gentile

"This week I’d like to recognize Charlotte Richardson at Lakeside Middle school.  Charlotte is an exemplary teacher who meets the extremely diverse needs of her amazing students every day. When you enter her classroom the warmth she projects to her students is palpable.  She creates an environment where her students thrive. Further, Charlotte goes above and beyond in her advocacy for her students and in her duties outside of the classroom.  Charlotte demonstrates what it means to be World Class."
~ Maris C. Lynn

"I am very proud to say that Lakeside was celebrated by Dr. Pamm Moore when we received our school data because we had 5 of the top 6 in the DISTRICT!

Susan Corson - 4.0 out of 4.0
Rita Pettit - 4.0 out of 4.0
Kathy James - 3.7 out of 4.0
Lisa Sanderlin - 3.7 out of 4.0
Stephanie Sharpless - 3.6 out 4.0"

"A special shout out to Marilyn Hardwick and Kathy King, learning consultants on the Special Services Testing Teams who handle a HUGE volume of child study team referrals, live by the mantra “test and write,” and somehow manage to get everything done to meet timelines while maintaining an equanimity that can only be termed amazing. We are very fortunate to have them as part of the Special Services Department!"
~ Nora Zielinski

"Shout out to Andy Bingham who is incorporating engineering and math into his art lessons by creating gyroscope arts projects with his students.  His art room allows students to create and express themselves on every level."
~ Dr. Pamela Moore

"I would like to send a shout out to Kelsey Carroll who is a second grade teacher at Silver Run.  I had the pleasure of conducting an observation in her room and I was impressed with her classroom management style, interactions with her students, and her attention to detail in her planning a lesson that enhanced the learning of all of her students.  Kelsey is a future teacher leader in this district!"
~ Pat Wulk

"Rebecca Benson (High School Digital Design Teacher): Becky made invitations for our STEM Day we’re hosting at Lakeside. I came to her with an extremely vague idea of what I was looking for and she was able to create an amazing product in a couple of days!"
~ Bobby Barber

"Casey Wilson -  Casey is a special education resource teacher who has special LEAP training and turnkeys and monitors that with our staff.  She carefully reviews each child’s IEP goals and documents their progress adjusting them and meeting with families mid year if necessary.  She works with children, their families and our staff and provides them with the materials and practices needed for our most involved children.  She models the PBS strategies for our staff and parents. She is a TRUE CHILD ADVOCATE!!!"
~ JoAnn D. Burns

"I would like to give a big shout out to Mae Haas and our entire staff for embracing the breakfast in the classroom program.  The number of students getting off to a healthy start to their day are evidenced by the increase in participation. ~ Steve Saul

"Karen Kappre – always going above and beyond to get the job done."
~ Daniel Wright, Jr

"A Bacon shout out to Dina Klaudi and Laurie Polof for running a smooth office here at school.  These ladies never need to be reminded of their responsibilities.  They consistently perform their duties effectively, efficiently, and with a positive attitude.  They are proactive in preventing small issues from becoming major ones, and they take initiative to solve problems often before I become aware of them.  Anything I ask of them, they do, even if it requires extra time or effort.  Furthermore, they are simply fun to be around, and they make the time spent here all the more enjoyable.  Thank you, ladies!  The Bears wouldn’t know what to do without you both!"
~ Mike Coyle
