I want to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, Las Posadas, Diwali or Chinese New Year (and any other celebration I may have missed). Regardless of what you celebrate, I am sure we can all agree on celebrating the Winter Break. Beginning this afternoon, we all have the opportunity to recharge our batteries. Spending time with our families and friends helps remind us of what is most important to each of us. This allows us to return in the New Year with a renewed energy to serve the students and families of Millville.
So far this year has held many milestones and accomplishments. Throughout each of our schools the staff and students are exploring their curiosity of the world around them. From arts to mathematics, athletics, to poetry or literature – there is something for everyone. Through the strategic plan we have committed to providing our students with paths to career and/or college readiness. Our expanded STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) programs are uniquely designed for those careers that rely heavily on technology and math. These days, there are very few if any professions that do not. Our Fine and Performing Arts students continue to shine.
It goes without saying that Millville Athletics are very healthy as well. One aspect often left out is the character of our students. We believe that part of our responsibility as educators is to help our young people become good people as well as employable. The ability to be kind, caring, and empathetic are just a few of the many qualities we value here in MPSD. Teamwork is also critically important so that our students can work in diverse groups in order to solve real world issues. All of this is possible because of each and everyone of you (Millville Staff). Thank you for all you do for our students, each other, and this community. I look forward to coming back together in 2019 to finish out this School Year. Until then, enjoy your break!!!
